This is the organic polwarth from the Paradise Fibers November box. I made 4 mini skeins, but unfortunately I couldn't use the walnut dye because of my allergies. Instead, I used Jaquard acid dye to get something similar to the natural colors obtained from walnut hulls. As soon as it is dry, I'll be knitting up my "Walnuts" cowl! Video coming soon!

I used to think that distaves were only for flax, but can I just tell you how convenient it is for spinning this wool top!!! I don't mess up the wool from having it in a pile behind me, I don't have so many joins, everything stays organized, I can stop and start spinning quickly, I'm more consistent... why haven't I been doing this all along??? 😫 Who else uses a distaff for spinning wool? 💕🧶

This is my sample skein. It is 12 WPI, 30° twist, and 168 yds in 4oz. I like how the colors came together, but I think I want to bring the WPI down to 14 maybe? It's just a tad dense for my liking but I spun it worsted so that's expected. It's going to be a cardigan, so I do want it to have some durability. When this is washed I can knit up some swatches.

Hello yarn! What do we have here? The top is my handspun targhee 3-ply. The bottom is Cascade 220, 4-ply. I've been sampling my handspun because I want to knit an @andisatt cardigan which uses Cascade 220, but I want to use my own handspun for it. Also, I'm not spinning a 4-ply for this project! 😅 I'll be knitting the #armandecardigan and I'm so super excited for this project!!! This is it! 27 WPI in the single with a 30° twist angle will give me a lovely and springy 3-ply yarn from this targhee dyed by @createdbyelsieb Now that I have the yarn decided, it's time to figure out how I'm planning to control the colors as I spin this up, so I get the look I want in my hand knit cardigan!

I'm sampling for my next sweater. I love this targhee from @createdbyelsieb and it spins like butter! However, I think this is about 48 wraps per inch and while I'm planning a 3-ply, I don't want to knit a whole sweater from lace weight yarn. Back to the spinning wheel to draft a thicker single!

I finished it! This is the Arboreal sweater by @knit.love.wool I handspun all the yarn myself. The colorwork portion was made from a gorgeous batt from @fiberygoodness and I spun it on a drop spindle. The brown colored wool is from Sunrise Haven Farm and I spun it on my Canadian production wheel. This took several months because of all the hand spinning I did for it. Worth it!!! It was a wonderful journey and I feel like an autumngoddess! 🍂
